In the news: Parlour Pizza + Pints moves to prime New Albany corner, expands dining options by Business First

A locally owned pizza chain has relocated its New Albany location to a prominent corner lot.

Parlour Pizza + Pints in New Albany moved to the former Hitching Post Bar location, at 115 W. Market St., according to Jason Wade, vice president of strategic operations at Neace Ventures.

The new location includes improved visibility, expanded indoor and outdoor dining options, plenty of television screens and “more on-brand aesthetics,” Parlour CEO and President Don Robinson said in a news release announcing the move. The former Parlour in New Albany was located at 225 State St.

“This new location showcases our innovative menu, dynamic atmosphere and thoughtful approach to pizza dining,” Robinson said. “… We look forward to being a permanent staple in the New Albany entertainment scene.”

Wade told me in an email that the remodel involved demolishing a previously adjacent retail shop and extending into city parking spaces to expand the dining room. The outdoor dining space has views of the Sherman Minton Bridge.

The Hitching Post closed earlier in the year to make way for renovations, Wade said.

“When acquiring the Hitching Post, we knew the location had trophy real estate potential for downtown due to its prominent location, visibility and great hospitality neighbors such as The Exchange Pub and Dragon King’s Daughter,” Wade said. “Anytime we can put a great brand in an optimal location, it makes things a lot easier and the community thrives. The move would not have been possible without the great support of the City of New Albany.”

Wade said Parlour has development plans for two new locations around the Lexington area, including one in Richmond and one in the Hamburg area.

The New Albany location is open 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. most days and 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays.

In addition to Parlour, Neace Ventures has holdings in several other food and beverage brands, including Hectare’s, Falls City Beer and Old 502 Winery.

In May, the private investment company opened Falls City Kitchen, a sports bar on West Main Street in New Albany. The restaurant is run by the former manager of the Hitching Post.
